Key changes in 2021 shareholder voting issues

With most Annual General Meetings taking place in the first half, the year’s trends were well-established before the autumn ‘back to school’.

Voting topics have reflected three recent shocks to the global economy: the Climate Crisis, the continuation of the Covid-19 pandemic, and Diversity issues highlighted by the Black Lives Matter movement.

Close examination of the details of new voting topics, and careful consideration of the long-term impacts, are required to set the standards for future resolutions.
