Alfred Sandeman is a Sovereign Analyst in Candriam’s Emerging Markets Debt team, a role he has held since 2025.
He joined Candriam in 2023 as a Sovereign analyst within the ESG Research Team and, in 2024, expanded his coverage to include ESG analysis of the Technology and Semiconductor sectors. During this time he played a key role in developing analytical models and supporting our sovereign investment process, as well as engagements with issuers such as Costa Rica.
Alfred began his career as a Research Economist in the UK Government Economic Service, evaluating the economic impact of policy at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, before moving into equity research at VSA Capital.
He holds first class honours in Economics from the University of Leeds.
