Nadège has been the Global Head of Multi-Asset at Candriam since 2021. She is in charge of establishing the broad Asset Allocation investment strategy applied across Candriam and the management of Multi-Asset funds.

She began her career as a sell-side Equity Analyst at Exane BNP Paribas in Paris in 1997. In 2007 Nadège joined Candriam as a Multi-Asset Fund Manager based in Luxembourg. In 2011 she became a Senior Asset Allocation Strategist and developed the cross-asset research and communication. Nadège subsequently took the role of Head of Asset Allocation at Candriam in 2014, building a very strong track record for Multi-Asset risk-profiled and flexible funds.

Nadège graduated from HEC Paris. She is a CFA Charterholder and also holds a financial analyst diploma from the French Society of Financial Analysts.

Update on US elections

Donald Trump heads back to the White House as the 47th President, with an increased likelihood of a Republican sweep. Yesterday (6 November), market reactions were strong, with US stocks hitting all-time highs, 10Y bond yields jumping to 4.5%, and the dollar surging against most currencies.

How should we position portfolios ahead of the US elections ?

Numerous statistics are being published on the performance of financial markets in the run-up to the US elections. US presidential elections do not occur often enough to generate statistically significant data, but we generally observe an increase in volatility from the summer preceding the election date, with range-bound markets. After the election, the uncertainty usually subsides, and the promises of the future new president may generate an end-of-year rally.

Is summer volatility inevitable?

The MSCI World (developed countries index) hit an all-time high in mid-July, following an almost uninterrupted 33% rise since its low point at the end of October 2023. Only a correction of around 5% in April 2024 enabled some reactive investors to jump on the bandwagon if they hadn't done so since the last quarter of last year.
